Project Description

Builder’s Choice and Custom Home Awards Finalist

This Colonial Revival Style home was built for clients requesting a traditional American country residence. Four brick chimneys anchor the five-bay-wide central main block, while pediment dormers with arched windows embellish the wood shingle roof. The asymmetrical rear façade is well suited for a family who enjoys casual outdoor living and entertaining. Projecting side wings enclose the main terrace and provide porches for additional covered seating. Elegant side wings, a breezeway, and a whimsical barn-like garage seem to have been developed over time, creating a classic New England feel.

Principal rooms retain a classic style that corresponds with the front elevation. The continuous curved wood handrail at the entry staircase delivers an understated elegance to the entry. The dining and living rooms are set in a formal arrangement, each with a fireplace centered on the elliptical arches from the entry hall. An English pub inspired billiards room and adjoining paneled library feature a custom iron and brass spiral staircase to the wine cellar beneath. Featuring classic yet restrained detailing, the house encourages an assortment of formal and casual living.
