Project Description
Builder’s Choice and Custom Home Awards Finalist
Working with an out of town owner, the project took on the feel of a sculpture as the builder and the owners had weekly meetings to select and verify material choices and installation techniques. As almost with the hand of an artist, the collection of buildings came to be a tribute to forms of the past. Although unconventional in process, the results have exceeded the family’s needs and expectations. Our objective was to create a unique maintenance free getaway.
Amenities Include:
Exceptional use of light, shadow and form.
Per-finished siding products that offer years of maintenance free cladding
Simple interior finishes complement the vernacular form.
Rain water is collected from the standing seam metal roofs, provides irrigation.
The concrete foundation was waxed to provide a beautiful natural finish that also complemented the budget.
A unique combination of Lexan and galvanized panels were assembled on the “Tractor Barn” and “Hay Loft” outbuildings highlighting the historic shapes.
