Project Description
The headquarters for nationally–recognized Saddle Creek Records, Film Streams independent theater and Slowdown bar and concert venue, created an urban art center and set the tone for the revitalizations of North Downtown Omaha. The two buildings include offices, a theater, bar and concert venue, 2 artist lofts, apartments (600 to 1200 SF), warehouse, and retail space.
The design addresses the major elements of the area creating an urban corridor that spurred future development in the formerly neglected neighborhood.
Exterior green space and access was created wherever possible with a passageway between buildings, a sculpture garden to the north, a beer garden outside the bar, and balconies that project from the offices and east facing apartments.
