Project Description
This house sits at the edge of a nature preserve with protected views to the adjacent woodlands.
The client wanted a swimming pool to be the center of the home’s layout and activities. We accomplished this by creating an L-shaped plan where one leg is a two-story house and the other a 115-foot long pool. The living room sits at their intersection where it is surrounded on three sides by the pool. At the floor level 2-foot band of perimeter windows enlivens the space with water views and reflections while giving the sense of floating. In similar fashion the opposite end of the house cantilevers over a sloping lawn where it has views to the forest treetops.
