Project Description
For Harrison Design, the solution for maximizing a small, steep site was to build the home literally out of the hillside, using the slope as an extension for a rooftop garden. Composed of an array of rectangular planes, the residence engages the owners and their guests with a series of reveals. The façade makes a strong impression from the street, and the home opens up figuratively and literally through a series of large glass doors. Throughout the interior, lustrous white walls emphasize architectural lines, steel beams and trim. A large skylight and windows illuminate the stairway connecting the four floors.
