Project Description
Situated on a coastal island, this residence is designed for indoor-outdoor living. The architects of Harrison Design planned the home in an H-shape so rooms transition to a courtyard, screened porches, terraces and balconies, adding 2,500 square feet to the 6,000-square-foot home. In the West Indies/Caribbean style, the house is embellished with French doors, louvered shutters and railings, and the classic bonnet roof. The interior is composed of open rooms with large windows, allowing panoramic vistas of the water. As a seasonal home, low-maintenance and highly durable materials were used, such as zinc in place of the traditional tin roof.
