Architects Honored at White House for National Arts and Humanities Medals

Johnpaul Jones, Billie Tsien, Tod Williams, and James Turrell among award winners to be recognized at a White House ceremony on Monday.

President Barack Obama will award the 2013 National Medals of Arts and the National Humanities Medals at a ceremony today in the White House East Room.

Johnpaul Jones, FAIA, founding partner of Seattle-based Jones & Jones, is one of ten recipients of the National Humanities Medal. Architects Billie Tsien, AIA, and Tod Williams, FAIA, partners in their eponymous New York firm, will each be receiving a National Medal of Arts. Artist James Turrell will also be receiving a National Medal of Arts.
