Renderings of the Day: New York–based Biber Architects broke ground on the USA Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015. The pavilion, “American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet,” is a response to the fair’s overall food theme. “The pavilion itself is a scaffolding for ideas, a rethinking of the nature of the expo pavilion and of America as a force in the food world,” said Biber Architects founder and principal James Biber, FAIA, in a press release.
MLK Library Update: Washington, D.C.,’s public library system is looking for proposals for a temporary library space, while the Mies van der Rohe-designed Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library undergoes major renovations, designed by Mecanoo Architecten and Martinez+Johnson Architecture.
