As a new academic year begins, the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning has announced the visiting and permanent faculty joining the school in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Among them, renowned Ghanaian-British architect David Adjaye, Hon. FAIA, will be the school’s Clipson Visiting Professor in Architecture. In winter 2019, Adjaye will co-teach a course on advanced prototyping with Catie Newell, the master of science in digital and material systems director and an associate professor of architecture. He will also deliver a public lecture during the winter term.
The College also adds Upali Nanda, Assoc. AIA, director of research at global firm HKS, to teach a course on health and design in January. Nanda will also pursue research with the University of Michigan medical community during her time on campus.
“We are drawing new faculty who are inventive and bring strength to our disciplines, including human-centered design, emerging urbanisms, critical thinking, and design studies,” said Taubman College’s dean and professor Jonathan Massey in a university press release.
