Parsons’ 2018 Summer Intensive Lighting Design Studio

The Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design program at Parsons in New York City has announced the dates for its annual summer intensive lighting design studio: June 11 – 18, 2018. The weeklong studio is an “immersive experience” and is open to students and working professionals. Design exercises explore the relationship between light—both natural and electric—and architecture. Classes meet daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in addition to select evening activities, and will be taught by Parsons’ Lighting Program faculty. Course fee is $2,100. Housing is available through the university at a fee of $755.

Elizabeth Donoff is Editor-at-Large of Architectural Lighting (AL). She served as Editor-in-Chief from 2006 to 2017. Neal Award for her Editor’s Comments in the category of Best Commentary/Blog, and in 2015, AL received a Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Media Brand (Overall Editorial Excellence).Prior to her entry into design journalism, Donoff worked in New York City architectural offices including FXFowle where she was part of the project teams for the Reuters Building at Three Times Square and the New York Times Headquarters. She is a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Me., and she earned her Master of Architecture degree from the School of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis.
