Project Description

RMIT was looking for maximum acoustic panel soundproof performance for their university building that would promote learning, and reduce sound waves throughout the building.

They looked to Atkar who supplied custom portrait acoustic performance panels with Einstein being the backdrop. Together with ARM architecture, and APM Group Builders, we implemented a complete and unique renovation of the building.

We used our Au.diPanel perforated acoustic wall panels with high gloss 2 pack polyurethane paint finish and Au.diMount XJ1 concealed fixing system that gave the design a real ‘pop’ in which people could easily notice and be awed by the design.

The student reception room of old had complaints that it was too loud and needed major sound wave reductions to allow an educational environment to flourish with interior room distractions. That is where Atkar stepped up in providing custom acoustic panelling that was “beyond expectations.”

The stunning result not only looked great, but the functionality of the room was top notch. The demanding space of the room was a challenge to implement custom paneling, but in the end we were able to subdue the sound to promote an educational setting and ambiance which was required for learning and student growth.
