Project Description

DELOITTE TURKEY HEADQUARTERS

Deloitte Turkey Headquarters Office consists of 11 floors which has an area of 12,500 sqm in total at Maslakno/1 Plaza in Istanbul. There’s a great amount of circulation in the building along with the integration of legal and corporate foundation departments and executives. While 8 of the normal floors are operational, one floor is dedicated to guests with the reception and meeting-lounge facilities; also the last floor is executive including the company’s foundation and the law firm. Alongside with the video/conference rooms and large meeting halls for potential workshops ,“Deloitte Learning Center” is located at the first basement with an area of 2.000 square meters is spared solely for educating purposes.

Today’s office approach must be handled to increase efficiency and communication between employees considering their comfort and happiness, and providing a feeling of loyalty. Technology brings possibilities which provide mobility, thus promote to work and do business in different forms and various spaces. Deloitte Turkey Office is a reflection of such an approach.

In Deloitte office space, “personal desks” are removed and the only thing left for employees is to choose where to work with their laptops. “Shared desks” and “clean desks” are carried into practice, renouncing personal desk concept in the office, providing possibility to work everywhere for everyone. In every floor, various spaces for high-concentration working, relaxed-working, quiet places, group work, small meeting corners, formal and informal meeting rooms are created in addition to the workstations for 4 and 6 people, in order to ensure a freedom of choice. Moreover, using the shared rooms and their structural transparency makes the flat organization visible in the workspace. The design adopts increasing efficiency, recovering monotony and enhancing the communication between employees as principles.

Social spaces in the former Deloitte office were solely designed for a single floor yet the new office space includes “kitchenettes”, public sitting areas and recreational spaces in one fifth of the every floor. It’s even possible to work in the winter garden or the dining hall which was designed as a classy cafeteria for the employees who gets bored with their existing floor. In this way, the segregation of functionalities between departments disappear and all departments execute continuously in a proper manner for an “information center”.

Headquarters’ entire data substructure is solved as wireless. All of the employees working at Maslakno/1 Plaza communicates through smart devices and wireless networks which are accessible internally. Land phones are not included on desks; communication is provided with cell phones which also enable internal access.

Deloitte Turkey Headquarters office was designed in a short span of time like 6 months within a highly enjoyable process by Bigg, which is one of the leaders for a new office understanding; aiming tomake the best out of today’s technological opportunities, considering the “generation y” factor, focusing on employee’s loyalty and increasing satisfaction and efficiency. The current mentality of an office space must be considered in an understanding that serves for the happiness and satisfaction of the staff, improves efficiency, increases communication between the employees and ensures a sense of belonging to the company.
