Project Description
FROM THE ARCHITECTS:
Hermitage Court is an affluent old neighborhood in Durham that dates back to the 1920s and ‘30s. This 4700-square-foot, four- to five-bedroom house was built on a half-acre site. A relatively simple house with levels that follow the natural rise and fall of the property, the ultimate key to its design was the desire to make sure it fit comfortably within the neighborhood. To do that, the architect made sure this very modern home adhered to the size, scale, elevation, height, color range, and set-back as most of the other houses in Hermitage Court.
