Our homeowners were looking to freshen up the kitchen in their Annandale home.
We began by removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room to extend the space and allow for the addition of a large eat at island which serves as an anchor. Crown moulding and wainscoting plus oak flooring throughout unifies the space.
Traditional white cabinets were installed on the perimeter with a zinc walnut island, making it the focal point. Mixing and matching the colors on the countertops – light, marbled white quartzite on the island and dark, stormy black soapstone on the perimeter — gives the space visual appeal. The white subway tile backsplash offers a nice contrast to the soapstone top. A suite of stainless steel built-in Kitchen-aid appliances delivers function and form. Amerock graphite cabinet hardware – knobs on doors and pulls on drawers – completes the look.
