Project Description
The concept of the bridge combines elegant lines, natural materials and efficient design. The low profile of the bridge along with its artistic solution will act as frame for the impressive landscape rather than distraction. To counter this idea, the proposal is aimed at enriching the pedestrian area both on the bridge and below, including the use of space under the parking bridge. The concept of the bridge fully respects the requirements of the public.
Materials
With respect to the fact that there are structures of very different age, style and color, there are natural materials and color neutral surfaces in the design, such as concrete, wood, lacquered steel and glass. Materials help the bridge to be non-violently integrated into the territory and are used to make it feel comfortable even in the immediate vicinity.
Piers
The central support points of the bridge were reduced to three “V” pillars at approximately 30m. The location of the pillars was chosen with respect to the use of space under the bridge and is also axially symmetrical to the Meziborská Street.
Mostovka
The bridge is designed in the existing axis and level and is tapering to 13.5m, including two sidewalks and two lanes in the middle. The cross-section of the bridge is based on an effort to get the most subtle impact from the Meziborska street. The main supporting ribs are minimized on the underside and, on the other hand, come out about 400 mm above the level of the bridge. At the same time, this solution forms a safety divider between the main traffic area and the associated sidewalks, and along with the glass-lined railing, it has the function of an acoustic barrier, eliminating the closest noise. On the sidewalk side, the concrete rib is covered with a wooden cladding with built-in continuous flowerpots for small decorative planting. In several places, the flower pots are interrupted by an inserted wooden bench. The outer edge of the bridge is provided with a transparent railing made of steel construction with stainless steel wire.
