Project Description

Critical Access Hospitals do not have to be boring and appear to be inferior to larger health care providers. Actually CAH’s can be dynamic elements in their communities and emanate an image of high-quality health care services to their communities. This is what our firm has accomplished for this rural replacement hospital.

North Caddo Medical Center secured a loan from USDA Rural Development to build a replacement facility on the same
tract of land as the existing hospital. Main exterior materials of the two-story facility are brick veneer and aluminum
metal panel. The building is approximately 72,000 square feet in size which includes 9,621 square feet of adjoining
outpatient clinic and 2,930 square feet of free standing energy plant. The following departments were located on the
perimeter to accommodate potential future growth: Central lobby, Emergency Department, Surgery, Imaging and
Diagnostic, Dietary, Material Management and adjoining clinic. Twenty-five private patient rooms, 2 LDR patient rooms,
administration and education are located on the second floor. The following departments are located in the ancillary
core due to their adjacency importance to the other departments: Laboratory, Physical Therapy and Pharmacy.
