Project Description
This project consists of a front yard and backyard outdoor living remodel. The homeowners of this project were looking for a tranquil outdoor space that they could escape in after working a long work week. The emphasis on creating 'tranquility' was crucial for both homeowners. They love the soothing sounds of water and wanted this to be the main focus for both the front yard and backyard. They were also interested in reclaiming some of the space in their front yard. The front of their home had plenty of square footage to utilize, the homeowners just weren't sure how to do it. Our team came in and designed a complete overhaul for both the front and backyard. The front yard redesign included an oversized paver patio, a new walkway and entryway complete with accent wall and pillars, plus a water feature. One challenge we encountered with the front yard walkway was with the slope in the grass. Originally, the design didn't call for steps, but after evauluating the grading and long-term goals for the homeowners, it was decided to add in steps to the new walkway design. The backyard also needed to focus on bringing out tranquility through use of water features. The homeowners really wanted a focal point out back, so the design we created included a custom, oversized natural stone veneer water feature placed at the end of their yard but in direct view from their sliding glass door. This way every time the homeowner or their guests look out back or step outside, the water feature is the first thing they will see.
