Project Description
Laight Street Penthouse in Tribeca, better known as The Sterling Mason, is part of Morris Adjmi Architects latest warehouse transformation. The construction combined two buildings: a circa-1906 masonry loft that was once a storage house for coffee and tea, and a new structure that will be its mirror image, but with an aluminum skin.Influenced by Andy Warhol’s “Double Elvis”, this 7 story, 115,000 square foot modern reflection of historic Tribeca, has been converted into 33 distinctive condominiums, including 30 lofts and 3 single and double-floor penthouses. All the penthouses feature thermally broken stainless steel outswing french doors with fixed sidelights in a sightline construction layout.
