this series of 44”-long modular light bars that connect with sliding
joints in matte metallic finishes. Each bar can be oriented upward or
downward to cast either indirect or direct light, respectively.

Rem Koolhaas, Hon. FAIA, designed this versatile door handle, which combines a rounded, mechanical hub and a planar lever, for Italian hardware maker Olivari. Offered in chrome, polished bronze, and natural brass, the handle debuted at Milan Design Week last month and joins the array of architect-designed hardware currently on the market.

London studio Buster+Punch‘s Edison-style lamps feature an internal LED diffuser reminiscent of a filament that proffers a soft glow from within a smoked, crystal, or gold–tinted bulb. The industrial look is complemented by a screw-in, E27 base in rose copper, smoked bronze, and cold steel finishes, while a black rubber suspension cable turns
the decorative lamp into a pendant. It is certified for use in European markets, and CNET reports that its makers are now pursuing UL certification.

A forthcoming set of screws, hinges, nails, bolts, and more from Dutch design studio Droog rethinks the hardware typically used in interior furnishings—which more often is made to blend in than to stand out. The Construct Me! collection debuted at Milan Design Week last month and includes over-sized components, glow-in-the-dark finishes, and an array of textures, reports Fast Company’s Co.Design.

Controls maker Legrand teamed up with Hubbarton Forge to design
a series
of cover plates that match the latter firm’s metal light fixtures. Forged
from steel, the plates’ rugged surface shows off the material’s natural textures and imperfections in black,
natural iron, bronze, burnished steel, dark smoke, and mahogany hues—turning a
simple wall switch into a decorative element all its own.
